ITIL gives a detailed description of a number of important IT practices with comprehensive checklists, tasks and procedures that can be tailored to any IT organization. ITIL is built around a process-model based view of controlling and managing operations. Implemented properly, ITIL can result in significant cost savings, improved services, clearly defined IT roles and ways to measure progress.
